HELPIK LTD was established in 1997 with 100% private investment. Our activities include research, design, engineering and consulting in the field of energy. In connection with the specific of our work, several directions are grouped, in order to cover the entire spectrum of activities on HPP, and its adjacent facilities, hydro- facilities, systems for drinking and technical water supply, service buildings, namely:

• Design;
• Construction;
• Electro-mechanical part;
• Hydraulic systems;
• Control systems;
• Engineering, financial, legal and administrative analyses and consultations.

The Company has establish itself as one of the main contractors for rehabilitation of hydro-power plants (HPP), pumped storage power stations (PSPS), pumping stations, dams, derivative channels, pipelines and other hydraulic structures in Bulgaria.

HELPIK Ltd holds a certificate of quality management ISO 9001:2008; certificate ISO 14001:2004 (management systems regarding the environment), and OHSAS 18001:2007 (management systems for health and safety at work). It is a member of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, and from 29 Feb. 2008 has a registration in its branch – Central Professional Register of the Builder. Most of the engineers, working in our company, are members of the “Chamber of the engineers in investment design”, and have full design capacity.

Over the years, the company collaborates with leading international companies in the field of hydropower construction and automation - SIEMENS, SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, ANDRITZ HYDRO, ABB-ALSTOM, END ARMATUREN & AUTOMATION, BUHLER, ČKD, CARPI, FLOWTITE, TECHNOR ENERGY, etc, and also maintains in a close cooperation with several research and academic institutions – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, The University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, and the Technical University.

The main strategy of HELPIK Ltd is the application of modern technologies and materials- fiberglass pipes; waterproofing coverage with geocomposites in dams and reservoirs, application of the technology for the recovery and strengthening of concrete structures using carbon fabrics. The company is specialized in the rehabilitation of hydraulic drive systems of gate units in HPP – spherical valves, butterfly valves, table plates, etc. In the algorithms for facilities management we set multiple devices for control, lock and self-test.

From 1997 until now HELPIK specialists have fulfilled tasks in most of the facilities in the cascades “Dospat-Vacha”, “Batashki vodnosilov pat”, “Belmeken-Sestrimo”, “Petrohoan”, “Arda”, “Rila”, as well as many other smaller HPP.

The Financial and Accounting Department of HELPIK Ltd. has gained thorough experience in the elaboration of financial reports financial analyses, assessment of investment projects, documents, including business plans and estimated cash-flows related to bank loans and their negotiation.

Over the years, HELPIK Ltd expands its activities and becomes one of the owners of “Varuna” AD, which is managing and in charge of the operation of HPP “Mezdra” and its adjacent facilities. As a result of a number of rehabilitation activities and optimization of operation, the production of HPP “Mezdra” has increased repeatedly - up to 15 million. KWh/per year.
